Location. The Mount Nelson Hotel is located in Cape Town, South Africa. Table Mountain is one kilometre away, the V & A Waterfront is three kilometres away, and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens is eight kilometres away. Cape Town Station is situated three kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Set on a lush garden estate, the Mount Nelson Hotel occupies a late 19th-century colonial-style property with distinctive pink facade, and opens to a wood-panelled reception hung with chandeliers. The hotel extends to two outdoor pools and offers a fitness centre, and the Librisa Spa, housed in three late-Victorian buildings, provides a sauna, steam room, and range of massage and beauty treatments. There is an onsite hair salon and gift shop, and further amenities include 24-hour room service, complimentary garage parking, and a concierge.

The Mount Nelson Hotel offers two dining options: the Cape Colony restaurant with its vaulted ceilings offers contemporary Western and Asian fusion cuisine and hosts live music every evening; overlooking the gardens and pool, the informal Oasis Restaurant with terrace area offers health-focused al fresco dining. Afternoon tea is served in the lounge area, and the chic Planet Champagne Bar features a marble fireplace and metallic-leather seating, and opens to a terrace. A complimentary full-English breakfast is provided. The hotel offers two floodlit tennis courts and a golf practice net.

Guestrooms. The 201 guestrooms are spread over six wings, each with its own individual character. All are traditionally decorated with rich fabrics and dark wood antique-style furnishings. Bathrooms are complete with bathrobes, slippers, hair dryers, and L'Occitane toiletries. Amenities include air conditioning, wireless Internet(surcharge), satellite television with DVD players, minibars, safes, and desks. Rooms with balconies are available.

Distance to the Mount Nelson Hotel is 19 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.

Getting there. A taxi direct from the airport to the hotel should cost around 200 SAR. Transfers provided by the hotel include a microbus (maximum of 7 passengers or a Mercedes (maximum of 3 passengers). These transfers are available for a surcharge.

Getting around. Trains and buses run throughout the city, but driving is the best way to get around. Many attractions are clearly signposted, however, parking can be difficult. Taxis are available but can be expensive.
